We love Riverfest!!

The one thing I love about Riverside is Riverfest. How fun to be in a small town yet so close to a big city--we get the best of both worlds! :) So Riverfest is a day full of fun family activities. We started off the day sitting down across from the Quick Trip watching the parade for an hour and
filling our Halloween buckets almost half-way with candy galore! Then we spent the afternoon at
the free carnival jumping and bouncing and climbing until we wore ourselves out (at least the kids did!). We ended the day watching fireworks from the RiverRoll skating rink shot off down by the river. It was a perfect day in our fun little town. Gotta love Riverside!!Posted by The Pope Fam at 5:09 PM 0 comments

EIEIO...
Blaine and I spent the day with friends at Deanna Rose Farmstead today. We saw some crazy chickens, smelled some stinky goats and filthy pigs, played
on the
slides, rode tractor bikes, milked a fake cow and fed baby goats milk (and our clothing if we weren't careful!!) from a baby bottle. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the memories of our last visit with Grandma and Grandpa Olson.
When I asked what his favorites from the day were he replied, "Driving the tractor
,
the pink one works, Mom!! And mommy pushing Blaine"...
"Squirting the water out of the cow" and putting the goat in a headlock (as you can tell!!).

It's about time!
So I've had this blog set up for months now with nothing but a title (sorry for all those who checked us out!!). Now that I am about the last one in my family to set one up, I thought it was about time to show off my amazing family!
My best half, and wonderful husband, Micah is as busy as ever running in every direction. He recently moved dental offices, two doors down, to join his mentor Dr. Deyton. He is enjoying the camaraderie and updated facilities and is an excellent dentist for any of you who are looking! ;) He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Kansas City Dental Society and serves 24/7 as the bishop in our church.. We love and appreciate his efforts in caring for our family, community and ward. He's amazing!!
I am busy chasing kids, running them to school and activities and keeping things up at home. I love having one-on-one time with Blaine--he is such a hoot!! He told me the other day, "You my best friend, Mom." Talk about melt your heart. He knows how to sweet talk the ladies!
Madison is having another wonderful school year. She recently tried out for Student Ambassador to represent her fourth grade class (like student council) and was elected by her fellow classmates to be their leader and example. Yeah!! She is such a neat girl. Very motivated, responsible and hard working--giving everything 100%. We are very proud. :) She is also taking piano lessons and doing very well. She loves school, playing with her friends, reading, Activity Days, and throwing parties. We love having her around.
Malia is our little social butterfly. She loves to be with her friends and would have them all move in if she could. She also loves school, is in 1st grade and is working very hard. She has a very contagious giggle and smile and is very determined when she puts her mind to it. We are proud of her as well. :) She also just asked to start piano lessons and had her first one last week. She is very good at learning by ear and is a talented young lady.
Blaine, Blaine, what can we say about Blaine?! He is a busy little boy!! He loves to cook with his mom and be her big helper. He loves his friends and especially likes to ride his big wheel bike down the sidewalk "Flintstone style"! Despite our every effort he refuses to use his pedals. That's my boy. I love having him home with me, he brings my life so much joy. His most recent accomplishment is becoming a "big boy" and learning to wear his "big boys". We are officially out of diapers!!! Yeah for Blaine!! We are very proud.
So that's the fam in a nutshell. We are still enjoying ourselves in the townhomes (9 years strong!!) here in KC and truly feel blessed with wonderful friends and neighbors. We miss our families but have enjoyed seeing them often throughout the year. We love you all!
